Iluminando Vidas is an itinerant exhibition on contemporary Mozambican photography. It is the first exhibition to offer such a comprehensive view of Mozambican photography since the end of 16 years of civil war in 1992.

Based on 25 photographs of the 79-year-old master photographer Rangel, the exhibition focuses on over 100 works of 14 of his 'disciples'. All photographers are presented with a statement , their biography and self-portrait .

At the gallery of the Associação Moçambicana de Fotografia (AMF) in Maputo Iluminando Vidas was shown for the first time in Mozambique from April 26 to May 25, 2003. Together with the Centro de Documentação e Formação Fotográfica (CDFF), the AMF played a key role in the development of contemporary Mozambican photography. Without the AMF and the CDFF, this exhibition would not have been possible.
